How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Follow these simple steps to properly—and easily—replace the toner cartridge in your Brother DCP-8085DN multifunction printer:
- Press the front cover release button, then open the front cover.
- Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge from the printer carefully.
- Push down on the drum unit's lock lever to release the used toner cartridge. Remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
- Take out the new toner cartridge from its packaging. Shake it gently a few times to distribute the toner more evenly inside.
- Pull off the protective cover, then push the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place.
- Clean the corona wire of the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from right to left a couple of times.
- Insert the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into the printer, then close the front cover.
