How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Here are the steps to replacing the toner cartridge on the Brother HL-4140CN:
- Turn on the HL-4140CN.
- Open the front cover.
- Hold the green handle of the drum unit, and then pull the drum unit until it stops.
- Hold the toner cartridge by the handle and slightly push it toward the machine to unlock it. Then, pull it out of the drum unit.
- Clean the corona wire.
- Unpack the new toner cartridge and shake it from side to side several times to distribute the toner.
- Pull off the protective cover from the toner cartridge and slide the toner cartridge into the drum unit.
- Push the drum unit in until it stops. Then, close the front cover.
