How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Here's how to install a new toner cartridge in your Brother IntelliFAX 8500 machine:
- After using the machine, wait for it to cool down before proceeding with the toner cartridge replacement. Some internal parts will be extremely hot to the touch, after all.
- Once a few minutes have passed, open the machine cover and pull out the drum unit. Set it down on a drop cloth to prevent spills, then hold down the lock lever of the drum unit to unlock the used toner cartridge. Remove it from the drum unit.
- Take out the new one from its protective bag. Rock the new toner cartridge gently from side to side a few times to distribute the toner inside more evenly.
- Remove the protective cover, then insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it clicks into place. After this, clean the primary corona wire of the drum unit.
- Reinstall the drum unit into the printer, then close the cover.
