How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Here are the steps to replacing the toner cartridge on the Brother MFC-8840DN:
- Open the front cover and take the drum unit assembly out of the MFC-8840DN.
- Push down the blue lock lever on the right side of the cartridge, and slowly remove the cartridge from the drum unit.
- Unpack the new toner cartridge and gently rock the cartridge from side to side for several times.
- Remove the shipping tabs and protective tape from the cartridge.
- Slide the cartridge into the drum unit assembly, and then reinstall the drum unit.
- Close the front cover of the printer.
- Run a compatibility test to make sure the new cartridge is compatible with your printer.
