How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Here are the steps to replacing the toner cartridge on the Canon ImageClass MF4890DW:

  1. Begin by lifting the access panel from underneath the control panel area.
  2. Open the toner panel until it locks. Then, remove the old toner cartridge.
  3. Remove the new toner cartridge from its box.
  4. Gently shake the cartridge back and forth a few times to distribute the toner inside evenly.
  5. Remove the packing tape from the new cartridge by pulling it straight out.
  6. There is also a black paper used to protect the drum. Pull it out to remove.
  7. Insert the new cartridge into the opening of the printer with the handle facing toward you.
  8. Close the toner panel first, and then slowly lower the access panel.
