Here's how to replace the ink cartridge on the Epson Stylus Photo RX500:

Make sure that your Epson Stylus Photo RX500 is turned on.
Open the scanner unit followed by the ink cartridge cover.
Squeeze the release tab of the used ink cartridge to remove it from the cartridge holder.
Remove the ink cartridge from its packaging.
Insert the cartridge into the holder until you hear it click into place.
Close the ink cartridge cover.
Close the scanner unit.
