How to Replace Cartridge(s)

To replace the ink cartridge on the Epson WorkForce 840, follow these basic steps below:

  1. Make sure that your device is turned on. Afterwards, open the scanner followed by the cartridge cover.
  2. Once you found the cartridge that needs replacement, pinch its release tab until you can easily remove it from its slot.
  3. Rock the new cartridge package back and forth several times before unpacking it.
  4. Unwrap the ink cartridge. Never forget to pull out its plastic protective tape while being careful not to touch the green chip.
  5. Push the cartridge firmly into the holder until it snaps into position.
  6. Close the cartridge cover, and then lower the scanner cover.
  7. Your machine will automatically start charging the ink. Wait until the screen says that the process is completed before you begin printing.

Frequently Asked Questions

I just installed a new black ink cartridge, but why is my Epson WorkForce 840 still not printing black?

If your Epson printer is not printing black even with a new black ink cartridge installed, chances are the protective tape still remains on the cartridge or the printer has a clogged printhead. Remove the cartridge from the printer and peel the protective tape. Then, after reinstalling, try cleaning the printhead to unclog the nozzles.

Why is it that my Epson printer does not detect the remanufactured ink cartridge that I recently installed?

If your printer does not detect the new remanufactured ink cartridge, it could be that it is not properly seated or it does not contact properly with the printer contacts. Remove the cartridge first, turn the printer off and leave it off for 20 minutes, turn it back on, and then reinstall the cartridge properly.

Do you offer a warranty on your remanufactured Epson ink cartridges?

Yes. All our remanufactured ink cartridges are backed by a full-year warranty.
