How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Here’s how to replace the toner cartridge on the Brother HL-3142CW:
- Make sure that the HL-3142CW is on.
- Open the top cover until it locks in the open position.
- Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
- Remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit by pushing down the green lock lever.
- Remove the new cartridge from the packaging and shake it from side to side several times to distribute the toner inside.
- Pull off the protective cover from the cartridge and insert the cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place.
- Clean the corona wire. Then, slide the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back into the printer.
- Close the top cover.
