How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Replacing a cartridge for the Brother HL-J6000 DW is easy. Just follow these steps:

1. Open the ink cartridge cover.
2. Press the lock release lever to release the ink cartridge to be replaced. Remove the old ink cartridge from the machine.
3. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging. If replacing a black cartridge, shake the cartridge quickly horizontally about 15 times.
4. Insert the new ink cartridge into its corresponding slot following the direction of the arrow on its label.
5. Gently push the area marked “PUSH” until the new ink cartridge is locked into place.
6. Close the ink cartridge cover. Machine will automatically reset the ink dot counter.
