  1. Open the top cover of the printer, then remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly.
  2. Place it down a flat, sturdy surface. Release the used toner cartridge from the drum unit, then carefully remove it.
  3. Remove the new toner cartridge from its protective bag. Using both hands, hold the cartridge on the sides and rock it gently back and forth several times to distribute the toner evenly.
  4. Bend the tab on the side of the cartridge until it detaches, then use it to pull the sealing tape straight off.
  5. Install the new toner cartridge into the drum unit. Check that it is firmly seated, then place the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly back inside the printer.
  6. Close the top cover.
