How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Here's how to easily and properly replace the existing toner cartridge in your Brother MFC-7225n printer:

  1. If you've just used the printer, it might be a good idea to wait until its internal parts cool down.
  2. When everything's good, open the front cover and pull the drum unit out of the printer.
  3. Hold down the lock lever and remove the used toner cartridge from the drum unit.
  4. Take the new toner cartridge out of its packaging. Grasp the new cartridge by the sides and gently rock it from side to side a few times to evenly distribute the toner.
  5. Remove the cartridge's protective cover.
  6. Insert the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it's securely in place.
  7. Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit.
  8. Reinstall the drum unit into the printer, then close the front cover.
