Follow these 8 steps if you need to replace the empty ink cartridge on the Brother MFC-J425W:

- Push the lock release lever, and then take the empty ink cartridge out of the printer.
- Unpack the new ink cartridge.
- Rotate the green release lever on the orange protective packing clockwise for the vacuum seal to be released. Then, remove the orange protective packing.
- Insert the new ink cartridge into the corresponding slot.
- Gently push the cartridge until you hear an audible click.
- Repeat steps 2 to 6 to replace other color ink cartridges.
- Close the ink cartridge cover.
