Frequently Asked Questions

I just installed the Brother LC3037Y Compatible Yellow Super High-Yield Ink Cartridge into my Brother MFC-J6545DW, but the "Cannot Detect" message suddenly appeared. Is this because I installed a compatible cartridge?

We don't think it's because you used a compatible on your Brother machine. The reason is probably due to an improperly installed cartridge. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it correctly. Make sure it locks into place before you close the ink cartridge cover.

I got a "Black and White Print Only" error message. Does this mean I have to replace the color ink cartridges soon?

Yes. The "Black and White Print Only" warning means one or more of the color ink cartridges are empty. You may continue printing a few pages in black and white, but we highly suggest you get replacement color ink cartridges as soon as possible.
