Here's how to replace the ink cartridge on the Brother MFC-J890DW:

Open the ink cartridge cover of your MFC-J890DW.
Release the used ink cartridge from its slot by pressing the lock release lever. Then, lift the cartridge out of the printer.
Open the box for the replacement ink cartridge, and then pull out the cartridge.
If you're installing the black cartridge, then lightly rock the cartridge horizontally 15 times prior to installation.
Verify if the color of the ink cartridge matches the color of the slot before installing.
By pressing the “PUSH" mark, the cartridge will be properly inserted and fully secured in its position.
Close the ink cartridge cover. Wait until the printer finishes resetting its dot counter before you begin printing.
