How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Change the toner cartridge on the Canon Pixma MG7700 with these steps:
- Ensure that the power is turned on.
- Hold each side of the paper output tray and lightly open it. Then, lift the operation panel up.
- Open the operation panel until it stops. Wait until the printhead holder moves to the replacement position.
- Remove the old ink cartridge with the lamp flashing fast. Then, push the tab and lift the ink cartridge to remove.
- Take the new ink cartridge out of its bag, and remove the orange tape from the ink cartridge.
- Hold the ink cartridge with the orange protective cap.
- Lift the tab on the orange protective cap to remove it off gently.
- Insert the front end of the ink cartridge into the printhead at a slant.
- Press on the top of the cartridge until it snaps firmly into place.
- Close the operation panel gently.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I leave the cyan cartridge slot empty and resume printing in black and white with my Canon PIXMA MG7700?
No. Your MG7700 will not print if one of the ink tanks is not installed. Make sure to install the cyan cartridge first so you can resume printing.
Why is it important to remove the orange tape from the new ink cartridge during installation?
If you fail to remove the orange tape from the new cartridge, ink may splash or the machine will simply not print properly.
I just installed a new ink cartridge, but why is the machine not printing?
One possible reason why the machine cannot print after installing a new ink cartridge is that the cartridge is probably installed in the wrong position. Remove the cartridge and install it in the correct position according to the label on the printhead holder.
