Here are the steps to replacing the ink cartridge on the Epson Stylus NX230:

Ensure that your Stylus NX230 is on.
Lift up the scanning unit and press the stop button. The printhead moves the cartridge to the indicator position if it is empty.
Grab the top of the empty cartridge and press in on the tab at the top of the cartridge.
Pull the cartridge up and out of the machine.
Shake the new ink cartridge package. Then, remove the cartridge from the bag.
Peel off the yellow protective tape from the new cartridge.
Install the cartridge into the empty slot and push it down until it clicks.
Close the scanning unit. Press the stop button again so the printhead moves to the home position and starts charging the ink.
