How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Replacing toner cartridges for the HP Color LaserJet 4650 is easy. Just follow these steps:

  1. Lift the top cover of the printer.
  2. Pull down the front cover and transfer unit.
  3. Remove toner cartridge to be replaced by pulling it out. Set it aside properly to avoid toner spilling.
  4. Remove new toner cartridge from packaging.
  5. Grasp both sides of the cartridge and distribute the toner by gently rocking the cartridge from side to side.
  6. Remove protective lock and sealing tape on the new toner cartridge.
  7. Align new toner cartridge with tracks inside the printer.
  8. Insert the new toner cartridge into the slot. Push it in until it is firmly in place.
  9. Close the front cover.
  10. Close the top cover.
  11. Toner cartridge replacement is successful when the printer displays a "Ready" message.
