How to Replace Cartridge(s)

To replace a cartridge for the HP DeskJet 1051, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Load paper.
  3. Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the print carriage to move to the center of the printer.
  4. Press down on the old ink cartridge to be replaced to release it.
  5. Remove the old ink cartridge from its slot.
  6. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging.
  7. Remove protective covering on the new ink cartridge.
  8. Slide the new ink cartridge into its corresponding slot. Push it in until it clicks into place.
  9. Close the cartridge access door.
  10. Printer will prompt for ink cartridge alignment when you print a document after replacement.
