How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Change the ink cartridge on the HP Deskjet 6840 with these steps:
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Open the printer cover, and then wait until the print cartridge cradle is idle and silent.
- Press down lightly on top of the cartridge latch.
- Pull out the bottom of the latch to unhook it, and then slide the cartridge out.
- Remove the protective tape from the new toner cartridge.
- Hold the print cartridge so the nozzles are down and the contacts face toward the printer. Then, slide the cartridge into the carriage.
- Push down on the print cartridge latch until it snaps closed.
- Close the printer cover.
