How to Replace Cartridge(s)

By following these easy steps, you can properly install a new ink cartridge in your HP Deskjet 850 printer:

  1. Make sure your printer is switched on, then flip open the top cover. The print carriage will move to its replacement position. Wait until it stops moving.
  2. To remove the ink cartridge you want to replace, just lift the latch and pull it out of the cradle.
  3. Unpack the new ink cartridge. Carefully pull off the sealing tape, while holding it only by the plastic body. By not touching the ink nozzles and copper strips, you can prevent printing errors later on.
  4. Insert the new ink cartridge into the cradle. Make sure to push it firmly. Put down the latch until you hear a click.
  5. Close the top cover.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes remanufactured ink cartridges a great choice?

While not brand new, remanufactured ink cartridges like our HP 45 Remanufactured Black Ink Cartridge can provide the same page yield and quality print results. This means every text and image is clear and vibrant—there are no smudges or errors with these cartridges. Plus, you won't have to spend more on ink because of their affordable price tag.

What is page yield?

This means the number of printed pages produced by an ink cartridge. But this is just an estimate—the number you'll actually get may be different because of several factors, including the settings of your HP Deskjet 850 personal printer, the type of paper you use, and how often you use the printer itself.
