How to Replace Cartridge

When it's time to replace your HP Deskjet 882's ink cartridges, just follow these steps:
Press the Power button to turn the printer on. The Power light will come on while the Inkjet Print Cartridge light blinks.
Open the top cover. The cartridge cradles will move to the center.
Unpack your replacement cartridges. Carefully remove the vinyl tape. Make sure you don't touch the ink nozzles and copper contacts.
Starting with one cradle, lift the cradle latch. Be sure to hold the replacement cartridge vertically, with the copper contacts faced toward the rear of the printer.
Push the cartridge down into the cradle. Remember that the black ink cartridge goes to the right cradle and the tri-color to the left. The printer will only operate when there are two cartridges.
Close the cradle latches. Push gently until you hear a click.
Close the top cover. The Inkjet Print Cartridge light will continue to blink for a while before going off completely.
