How To Replace Cartridge(s)

Here’s how to replace the ink cartridge on the HP Deskjet D1420:

Press the Power button to turn on the Deskjet D1420.
Open the printer lid and wait until the carriage moves to the center of the printer.
Press down on the empty ink cartridge to release it, and then slide it out of the printer.
Remove the new ink cartridge from the package and use the pink pull tab to remove its sealing tape.
Hold the cartridge with the front of the cartridge pointed up slightly, and then insert it into the correct slot.
Push the new cartridge firmly until it locks into place.
Close the printer lid.
