How to Replace Cartridge(s)

To replace ink cartridges for the HP DeskJet D4145, simply follow these easy steps:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Load plain, white A4- or letter-sized paper in the in tray.
  3. Open the printer cover.
  4. Wait until the print cartridge cradle is silent and idle after moving to the right side of the printer before continuing.
  5. Press down on the ink cartridge to be replaced to release it.
  6. Pull out old ink cartridge from the print cartridge cradle.
  7. Remove new ink cartridge from packaging. Remove protective covering on new ink cartridge.
  8. Insert new ink cartridge into its corresponding slot at a slight upward angle, copper strips facing the printer. Push it in until it clicks into place.
  9. Close the printer cover.
