How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Replacing ink cartridges for the HP Deskjet F2179 is simple. Just follow these easy steps:

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  2. Open the ink cartridge door. This moves the print carriage to the center of the machine.
  3. Wait until the print carriage is silent and idle before lightly pressing down on the ink cartridge to be replaced to release it.
  4. Remove the old ink cartridge from its slot.
  5. Remove the new ink cartridge from its packaging. Remove protective covering on the new ink cartridge.
  6. Slide the new ink cartridge forward into its corresponding slot.
  7. Gently push the upper part of the new ink cartridge forward until it clicks into place.
  8. Close the print cartridge door.
  9. Align ink cartridges after replacement.
