How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Follow these simple steps to replacing the ink cartridge on the HP Deskjet F2420:

  1. Press the Power button to turn on your HP Deskjet F2420.
  2. Open the ink cartridge door. Then, wait until the ink carriage moves to the center.
  3. Push down on the release tab of the old ink cartridge, and then take it out of its slot.
  4. Open the protective bag of the new ink cartridge, and then remove the cartridge.
  5. Use the pink pull tab to remove the plastic protective tape from the new cartridge.
  6. Align the end of the ink cartridge with the tracks inside the printer. Then, insert it into the carriage and push it firmly until it snaps into position.
  7. Close the ink cartridge door.
