How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Follow this easy step-by-step guide if you need to replace the ink cartridge on the HP Photosmart 2610XI:

  1. To begin, turn on the power of your HP Photosmart 2610XI.
  2. Raise the front center of the machine until the print carriage access door is completely open and locked into position.
  3. Wait until the print carriage reaches the right side of the printer before continuing.
  4. Once the carriage is idle and silent, push down and lift the cartridge latch inside.
  5. Take the used ink cartridge out of its slot. Carefully dispose of it.
  6. Pull the replacement ink cartridge out of its protective packaging. Remove its plastic protective tape by using the pink pull tab.
  7. Push the ink cartridge firmly down the ramp and into the slot.
  8. Press down on the latch until you hear it click into place.
  9. Close the carriage access door and start printing!
