Frequently Asked Questions

How would I know if one of the ink cartridges on my HP Photosmart C3190 is running low on ink?

When one of the ink cartridges is running low on ink, a low-ink warning message often appears on your computer screen. You may also check the ink levels using the software installed on your Photosmart C3190.

I'm replacing both the tri-color and the black ink cartridges. Where do I insert the new ink cartridges?

If you are installing the tri-color ink cartridge, make sure to insert it into the slot on the left; while the black ink cartridge should be inserted into the slot on the right.

My black ink cartridge still contains ink, but I need to replace it with the photo ink cartridge. Can I store the black cartridge for future use?

Yes. If you are removing the black ink cartridge in order to install the photo cartridge, you may store the black cartridge in an ink cartridge protector or an airtight plastic container to keep it fresh.
