How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Check out this handy guide on how to replace the ink cartridges in your HP PSC 1311 printer:

  1. Turn on the printer, then lower the paper tray to access the cartridge door.
  2. Open the print cartridge access door by lowering the handle. When the print carriage stops at its replacement position, remove the used ink cartridge by pushing down on it, then pulling it out of its slot.
  3. Unpack the new ink cartridge. Remove its sealing tape while avoiding contact with the ink nozzles and copper strips.
  4. Slide the new cartridge at a slight upward angle into the empty slot, pressing down firmly until it snaps into place.
  5. Close the print cartridge access door.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do remanufactured ink cartridges benefit me?

Remanufactured ink cartridges, like the ones included in the HP 56 & 57 & 58 Remanufactured 3-Piece Combo Pack, are more cost effective than their OEM versions, but can deliver the same sharp and highly detailed prints. This allows for greater savings while increasing the pages you can print.

Any tips on lengthening the shelf life of my unopened ink cartridges?

Just store them properly. Because ink cartridges are sensitive to harsh lighting and extreme thermal changes, make sure to store them somewhere dry, dark and climate-controlled. This space they're kept in should be clean and dust-free, as well. You can also prevent degrading the ink's composition by storing them away from gaseous cleaning materials.

What's the difference between ink and toner cartridges?

Ink cartridges are used in inkjet printers like the HP PSC 1311, while toner cartridges are used in laser printers.
