How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Follow the steps below if you need to replace the toner cartridge on the Brother HL-6180DWT:
- Make sure that the HL-6180DWT is on. Let it cool down before you proceed.
- Press the front cover release button and open the front cover.
- Take the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly out of the printer.
- Push down the green lock lever and remove the toner cartridge from the drum unit.
- Take the new toner cartridge out of the package and gently shake it to distribute the toner inside evenly.
- Pull off the protective cover, and then put the cartridge into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place.
- Clean the corona wire inside the drum unit, and then install the toner cartridge and drum unit assembly into the printer.
- Close the front cover.
