How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Replace the ink cartridge on your Canon PIXMA MP990 with these steps:

1. Verify if your PIXMA MP990 is on. Then, open the paper output tray by pressing the Open button.
2. Lift the scanning unit. The printhead holder will then move and stop at the replacement position.
3. Release the empty cartridge from the slot by pressing its ink tab. Then, lift it out of the printer.
4. Unpack the new ink cartridge and remove its orange tape by pulling it in the direction of the arrow.
5. Insert the new cartridge into the empty slot and push it down until it locks into place.
6. Close the scanning unit.
