How to Replace Cartridge(s)

Here's how to replace the ink tank on the Canon PIXMA MX895:

1. Gently open the paper output tray after turning on your Canon PIXMA MX895.
2. Raise the scanning cover. Using the scanning unit support to hold the cover open. Wait until the printhead holder moves to its replacement position before you proceed.
3. Remove the used ink tank from its slot by pressing the release tab.
4. Take the new ink tank out of the package and remove the orange tape and film from the tank.
5. With the orange protective cap facing up, gently twist it 90 degrees horizontally and remove it.
6. Insert the ink tank at a slant into the printhead holder.
7. Push the ink tank firmly to make sure that it is fully secured in its place.
8. Close the scanning cover. The machine will automatically start cleaning the printhead.
