How to Replace Cartridge(s)
To install a new remanufactured Epson Expression XP-5100 ink cartridge, simply follow these steps:
- Make sure the printer is turned on.
- Lift up the scanner unit until it clicks. This will give you access to the print head.
- Squeeze the tab on the old ink cartridge to be replaced. Lift the old ink cartridge straight up and out to remove it from its slot.
- If you are replacing a black ink cartridge, gently shake the new cartridge about four or five times. DO NOT SHAKE COLOR INK CARTRIDGES.
- Remove the new ink cartridge from its package. Remove protective covering on the new ink cartridge.
- Insert the new ink cartridge into its corresponding slot.
- Press down on the new ink cartridge until it clicks into place.
- Lower the scanner unit.
- Select “Completed” on the LCD screen. Print head will move to home position and ink charging will begin. The process will take a few minutes. Don't turn off the printer until ink charging is finished.
