How to Replace Cartridge(s)

To replace ink cartridges for the HP Fax 1250, simply follow these steps:

  1. Make sure the HP Fax is turned on.
  2. Open the ink cartridge door. The ink cartridge carriage should move to the far right side of the machine.
  3. Lightly press down on ink cartridge to be replaced to release it.
  4. Pull out the old ink cartridge toward you to remove it from its slot.
  5. Remove new ink cartridge from packaging. Remove protective covering on new ink cartridge.
  6. Slide new ink cartridge into empty slot, copper contacts at the bottom and facing the machine.
  7. Gently push the upper portion of the new ink cartridge forward until it clicks into place.
  8. Close the ink cartridge door. Ink cartridge alignment begins after the replacement.
