How to Replace Cartridge(s)
Here's the easy and proper way to install a new toner cartridge in your Brother HL-5340DL printer:
- Make sure the printer is switched on, then open the front cover.
- Pull out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Place it on a flat, sturdy surface with a drop cloth to catch spills. Remove the used toner cartridge by holding down the lock lever and pulling the cartridge out of the drum unit.
- Unpack the new toner cartridge. Shake it gently from side to side a few times to evenly distribute the toner inside. After this, remove the protective cover from the cartridge.
- Install the new toner cartridge into the drum unit until it locks into place.
- Clean the primary corona wire in the drum unit by sliding the tab gently from right to left, and back, several times. Reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge in the printer.
- Close the front cover.
